This book contains numerous experiences of the writer, his family and friends, primarily in his hometown of Belzoni, Mississippi, during the ‘40s and ‘50s. It finds the pulse of a simpler period. It mentions friends, such as Bo, Tud, Pep, Rat, Gandhi, Jink, Deefer, and Gooter, to name a few. There’s a desire in almost everyone to piece together life’s youthful experiences. If you’re old enough, maybe you’ll see yourself in some of these events. If not, maybe reading it will help you understand your parents a little better. So, to all of you older folks - take the time to wander down your own memory lane and write down some of your youthful experiences. Your children and grandchildren will thank you for it. And to you younger folks - stay after them, because they’ll never do it if you don’t.
